Read the airline’s wording
Only one power bank is allowed per passenger. The watt-hour (Wh) rating must be 100 Wh or less and must be clearly marked.
Where interpretation is involved
- overhead bin: Etihad writes 'Avoid storing it in the overhead locker' as a safety recommendation, not a ban.
Conditions to check
- Wh rating must be labelled, embossed or printed on the device.
- Keep it switched off and protected against short circuits.
From 1 January 2027
IATA’s standard changes the over-100 Wh allowance. We have not verified this airline’s implementation for every future flight. Check the scope of the 2027 change.
