Power banks exceeding 100 Watt-hours are no longer allowed in passenger baggage.
Where interpretation is involved
- overhead bin: Qatar only says power banks must not be in the overhead bin while charging a device.
Conditions to check
- Charging the power bank is prohibited at all phases of flight.
- It may charge your devices in non-critical phases only while in your direct supervision, not in a bag or overhead bin.
- This checker covers ordinary standalone power banks. Qatar publishes separate allowances for batteries removed from smart luggage; check that exception directly.
From 1 January 2027
IATA’s standard changes the over-100 Wh allowance. We have not verified this airline’s implementation for every future flight. Check the scope of the 2027 change.
